Anyone on the team can lead these activities, and they are designed to be short, fun, and easy to use. Because these teambuilding activities use team members’ DiSC Profile results, the activities are personalized for everyone who joins.
Teams can choose from three team-building activities that are available on DiSC Catalyst:
- Get to know your team
- Make decisions together
- Communicate more clearly
Each activity contains discussion guides incorporating individual team members’ personalities and behavioral styles based on each topic. Teams that engage in thoughtful and open discussions will be able to bond and build better rapport with each other.
How to Use DiSC Catalyst Conversation Starters
Teams that engage in quick and frequent team-building activities are more likely to build collaboration. Here are the steps your team can take to leverage Wiley’s DiSC Catalyst with this process:

Have the team Complete the DiSC Catalyst Assessment
The Everything DiSC® Workplace Catalyst™ assessment takes 15 to 25 minutes to complete. During the assessment, learners are asked questions about themselves and their behavior. The assessment is researched and validated so your team can trust the results.
Once your team has completed the assessment, they will have a detailed report about themselves, including their communication preferences and work style. They will be able to watch videos, listen to podcasts, and compare their style to their co-workers.
The experience is usually filled with ‘ah-ha’ moments and moments. Often, people are amazed at how well the report describes them.

Create a Group in Catalyst
Beyond learning about yourself after completing an assessment on Everything DiSC Catalyst, the next best thing is comparing your style with others.
This is where Catalyst groups come into play.
Catalyst Groups makes you feel like a data scientist. Learners can find all their team members, and dig into the personality mix of their team.
The process of creating a group is fairly straightforward. All you need to do is:
- Click ‘Create Group’
- Name your group (i.e. Marketing Team)
- Identify your role and start adding team members to your group!
If you want, you can even share the group you create with others on your team so they don’t have to create the same group.

Conversation Starters provides through group discussion templates that are designed to be engaging and focused on topics that matter to teams. Each Conversation Starter provides a 20 – 45 minute team-building discussion.
