Course Change for Five Behaviors Facilitators
Up until 2022, trainers and facilitators interested in gaining a credential for The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive® team, published by John Wiley and Sons, attended The Five Behaviors® Facilitator Accreditation. Today, trainers interested in adding this credential to their toolkit will notice that the accreditation program has been replaced with The Five Behaviors Certification.
Why the change?
A lot has happened with The Five Behaviors in the past few years. Virtual training support was added to the facilitation kit along with a streamlined and shortened workshop option. The Five Behaviors Personal Development tool was added as a way to onboard new team members and to spread the good word of effective teamwork throughout an organization and across teams that may shift or change on a regular basis.
As this tool grew to meet the changing needs of organizations, so to did the Facilitator Accreditation program need to change.
Here is the official response from Wiley about the changes:
The Five Behaviors Facilitator Accreditation course has served the needs of practitioners for several years. However, the course does not include our Personal Development solution and was a long commitment spanning six weeks. Therefore, we have updated the course to a two-week immersive learning experience and integrated the Personal Development solution into the curriculum.
Trainers, rejoice! You can now get up and running in just two weeks with both the Team and the Personal Development programs. Sound like a lot to accomplish in two weeks? Don’t worry. When you register for Five Behaviors Certification through Center for Internal Change, we are there to support you every step of the way.
Practitioners who register for Certification through our website will receive a recorded, two-hour train-the-trainer that walks through the entire contents of the facilitation kit. We will be there before and after your course to answer all of your questions and make sure that you have what you need to succeed.
What is the new Five Behaviors Certification?
The Five Behaviors Certification prepares trainers, coaches, and facilitators to deliver impactful experiences that build team cohesion. The two-week course is a combination of self-guided, online learning and live, instructor-led sessions. Participants will:
- Dig into the foundations of The Five Behaviors model.
- Explore the Five Behaviors solutions from both the learner and facilitator perspective.
- Learn how to build custom solutions to meet specific needs.
- Practice facilitation and coaching techniques and receive feedback in an encouraging environment.
After successful completion of the course and final exam, participants will earn the credential of The Five Behaviors Certified Practitioner.
Is the Accreditation course still available?
No. The original Five Behaviors Facilitator Accreditation is no longer being offered. Refer above to read the reasons for this change.
How much does the Five Behaviors Certification cost?
The Five Behaviors Certification is $3,295. This price includes access to your digital facilitation kit, assessment administration account (EPIC), and The Five Dysfunctions of a Team eBook.
If you already own a copy of the facilitation kit, please let one of our team members know before you register.
What if I already completed The Five Behaviors Facilitator Accreditation?
Great question. Anyone who completed the Five Behaviors Facilitator Accreditation course will retain their credential and remain accredited! There is no need for you to attend a re-accreditation for your credential to remain valid (re-accreditation is no longer a requirement).
Do participants need to have any facilitation experience prior to the certification course?
Prior facilitation experience is not a course requirement. However, this course will not provide general facilitator training. Those looking to develop their facilitation skills may want to supplement this Certification with another course.
What are the Certification course requirements?
Anyone registering for The Five Behaviors Certification course is required to have access to The Five Behaviors Facilitation kit (included in your registration fee), commit to two weeks of self-guided online work, complete all learning modules and the course project on time, attend all four virtual classroom sessions, and earn a passing score on the final exam.
What if I can't make one of the live sessions?
Attendance at all four instructor-led Zoom sessions is a requirement to gain your credential for this course. If you can not make one of the live sessions, you will need to withdraw from the course and reschedule to a future course offering.
