Private Organizations Are Coming to Catalyst: What You Need to Know

Everything DiSC on Catalyst Organizations are going Private - What You Need to KNow

Catalyst Organizations Are Going Private

Before the end of 2024, Catalyst will go through a major infrastructure change that will limit how learners see each other in Catalyst organizations based on the EPIC account that holds the learner’s assessment data.

This change could severely disrupt how your learners use Everything DiSC on Catalyst, or it will roll out without you even noticing it.

In this article, we will review what is changing to Catalyst and how you can prepare for the roll-out.

What is changing with Catalyst?

Since its launch in 2020, one of the key benefits of the Catalyst experience has been the ability for Learners to compare DiSC® styles across their Organization and get tips for working better together. The assumption was that Organizations would see better results if all their Learners could see each other, regardless of the administrative “owner”. This means that Organizations are “public” in the Catalyst administration process, allowing any administrator to add Learners to any Organization if they confirm they are employed there.

Over time, Wiley listened to feedback from administrators and identified three key challenges with public Organizations:

  1. Administrators prefer and expect Learner viewing access to be limited to other Learners within the same EPIC account.
  2. Administrators desire more control over Learners, departments, and Organizational management to enhance Learner relevance, yet because Organizations are public, administrator control is limited to protect data privacy.

Private Organizations will address all these challenges!

How to prepare for this change

To help you prepare for this change, I want to invite you to answer a couple of questions to see if you will be affected by this change:

  1. Does your organization use multiple EPIC accounts to issue Everything DiSC on Catalyst assessments?
  2. Does your organization contract with a third-party consultant, coach, trainer, or firm that issues Catalyst assessments for anyone within your organization?

If you answered ‘yes’ to either question, then this change will affect who your learners can see within the Catalyst organization.

Once this change is deployed, shared organizations and their respective learners will be split into separate accounts that align with the EPIC account that originally assigned the access code. For example, an organization currently shared by multiple EPIC accounts will be split into separate organizations, each managed independently by the respective EPIC account.

What do I do if I'm affected by this change?

Fear not, if you recognize that this change will affect your learners, there are processes in place that will allow you to gather all of your learners and ensure they are able to connect on Catalyst.

While we work with these new processes, we want to invite you to fill out the below form so we can best connect you with the process that will help your organization.
